Children’s Rights and Responsibilities to “Build a Better World”
- You have the right to life and to the development of your abilities, and you are responsible for protecting all living beings.
- You have the right to live in a family that cares for you, and you are responsible for participating fully in family life.
- You have the right to express yourself freely and to be heard, and you are responsible for your opinions and listening to the opinions of others.
- You have the same rights as all other children, and you are responsible for respecting others and their differences.
- You have the right to food, clothing and a roof over your head, and you are responsible for not wasting and for sharing what you have.
- You have the right to receive help if you need it, and you are responsible for helping people in need of support.
- You have the right to education, and you are responsible for learning well.
- You have the right to play and be healthy, and you are responsible for taking care of yourself and others.
- You have the right to be protected against all types of violence, abuse and neglect, and you are responsible for behaving peacefully.
- You have the right to learn to live in peace, protect the environment and respect other persons, and you are responsible for building a better world.
