Students organise a Western Fest for the Foundation
Cathy Beausoleil, instructor in the department of business strategies at UQAM’s École des sciences de la gestion, invited Dominique Richard, our managing director, and Sophie Barrette, our coordinator of events, to come and tell her students about the Marie Vincent Foundation and what it does. A successful initiative, since eight of these students believed in the cause and decided to host an on-campus Western Fest for the Foundation on March 28th 2008.
Everybody pitched in their good will to make this event a success: some ten sponsors provided gift certificates, door prizes, and refreshments and the UQAM cheerleaders were the life of the party. This Rodeo Fest was counted as an exam in the course on special events and sponsorships. So this was one test that these students aced, since their event attracted 250 people and raised close to $1,500. Bravo and our whole-hearted thanks!
