Created in 2005, the Centre d’expertise en agression sexuelle Marie-Vincent (Centre specializing in sexual aggression) is a leader in developing promising practices aimed at supporting young victims of sexual aggression and their families. Working in full synergy in an environment designed to meet the specific needs of the children, researchers, experts, professionals and trained workers from various fields pool their skills and knowledge to provide cutting edge services, treatment and tools in the field of child sexual abuse.

The Marie-Vincent Interuniversity Chair on childhood sexual abuse was instituted in May 2005. It ensures the research activities of the Centre d’expertise en agression sexuelle Marie-Vincent. The purpose of the Chair is to develop Quebec expertise in the detection and treatment of childhood sexual abuse, while stressing the actual needs of children and families receiving services at the Centre. The Chair is based within the Université de Sherbrooke in cooperation with the Université de Montréal and the Université du Québec à Montréal
