Message from the chairman...

It is with great pleasure that the Foundation launches this brand new version of its Web site, made possible through the volunteer contribution of the Sid Lee agency’s talented team, to whom we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude.

For over 30 years, the Marie-Vincent Foundation has been devoted to the increased well-being of Québec children who are maltreatment victims, but more especially it assists young victims of sexual abuse. Through its financing activities, the Foundation primarily supports the Centre d’expertise en agression sexuelle Marie-Vincent and the Marie-Vincent Interuniversity Chair, which it created in 2005. The Centre is a social innovation in the francophone world and a leader in its field. It brings together under a single roof researchers, experts and trained workers who work in synergy to develop practices, services and advanced treatments, specially designed for the needs of young sexual abuse victims and their families.

But the Foundation’s work doesn't stop there. Every year, it conducts a large awareness campaign to alert Québec society to the devastating impact of maltreatment on the lives of children. The Foundation's fund drives also allow it to support other Québec community organizations who share the same mission.

In the course of its action, the Foundation also draws on the enthusiastic support of numerous business partners, collaborators, donors, sponsors and volunteers motivated by the desire to offer concrete support to child maltreatment victims. I wish to join my colleagues of the Foundation Board of Directors in expressing to these individuals our deep gratitude for their renewed support in the cause of children.

It shouldn’t hurt to be a child!
